Quickboost 1:48 F4U-1 Corsair landing gear covers is a resin detail set that replaces the thick plastic gear covers with thin, faithfully rendered parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin detail set in 1:48 scale adds finely cast landing gear covers to a model of the Vought F4U-1 Corsair carrier fighter. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the needlessly thick plastic covers from the box with thin parts with faithful internal structure. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War, easily recognized by its inverted gull wing. It was powered by a strong radial engine and the machine became famous in the hands of US Navy and Marine Corps pilots in the Pacific. Thin, faithfully rendered landing gear covers lift the impression of open gear bays considerably.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent from the mold. Separate the covers from the casting blocks by cutting, not by snapping, and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand the resin with respiratory protection or wet, because resin dust is harmful. Spray the inner faces of the covers with a base coat and bring them out with a wash and a dry brush.
It is supplied as an unglued and unpainted resin set. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
