The F/A-18 is a twin-engine carrier-based multirole aircraft that was built from the start to handle both fighter tasks and strikes on ground targets. The A version is single-seat and is among the first production forms, so its cockpit differs from the later machines. The set is aimed at precisely this early form of the interior.

The instrument panel, the side panels and other surfaces carry color printing including the small labels that are practically impossible to render with a brush. The element has relief of its own, so it replaces the flat decal from the box and adds depth to the cockpit. The thin film does not increase the thickness of the part, so it does not get in the way when the canopy seats. The extent of the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The QD range is applied like a classic decal. Cut the element from the sheet, hold it for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the backing paper into place. Paint the surfaces beneath the elements, let them dry, degrease them and cover them with a gloss varnish such as Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22, because the element has no adhesive layer of its own. On busy surfaces a drop of cyanoacrylate glue will pull it down; a decal softener or a decal fixer does not belong with this set.
The set suits a build with the canopy slid back and anywhere the cockpit is to be finished quickly and still in detail. Check whether the elements fit your kit in the manufacturer's instructions. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
