This resin accessory from Quickboost in 1:48 scale offers a faithfully cast ejection seat with cast seat belts for a model of the American carrier fighter F/A-18 Hornet in the A and C versions. It is not an airplane kit but a one-piece replacement part that replaces the bare seat from a plastic kit with a detailed piece ready to be fitted straight into the cockpit.
The F/A-18 Hornet is an American multi-role carrier fighter and attack aircraft of the navy. Its pilot sits in an ejection seat with a multi-point harness system. A cast seat with faithfully rendered belts and detail saves assembling and gluing the straps separately and lifts the look of an open cockpit considerably.
Wash the resin part in lukewarm water with detergent because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block under the seat off with a saw or a cutter, sand the surface and protect your airways when sanding resin. Paint the seat separately before fitting it into the cockpit; bring out the belts and the detail with a fine wash and dry-brushing. Glue with cyanoacrylate and apply a primer before painting.
It is supplied as a resin accessory for experienced modelers, not as a standalone kit. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
