The package contains one finished part, an instrument panel for the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 in 1:48. It is not a model of the aircraft and not a complete photo-etched set for the cockpit. The panel is etched from thin sheet and printed in color at the factory, so the dials, the scales and the lettering are finished. The modeler only separates it from the fret and glues it in. Compared with decal dials it looks crisper, and compared with hand painting it saves a great deal of time.
The Fw 190A-8 was the most widespread version of the A line. It was powered by a BMW radial engine, the airframe had a wide landing gear track and, compared with contemporary fighters, it offered a good view from the cockpit. The A-8 form brought changes to the internal layout of the fuselage and to the equipment, so the cockpit details differ from the earlier versions of the line. That is exactly why the manufacturer lists the panels for the individual forms separately.
Remove or thin the plastic panel from the kit so that the etched part seats at the correct depth. In 1:48 the cockpit space is small, so try the fit dry first. Separate the part with a sharp cutter, level the edges with a file and protect the printed face while doing so. Glue with cyanoacrylate in a minimal amount, applied with a pin around the perimeter of the reverse side. Do not varnish over the whole printing. The dial glasses are suggested by a tiny drop of gloss varnish on each dial.
This is an accessory, not a model of the aircraft. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
