Eduard SPACE, Fw 190D-9 cockpit (1:48)

The SPACE set from Eduard combines 3D decals on a backing paper with pre-colored photo-etched steel parts. It offers a three-dimensionally shaped instrument panel, side consoles and seat belts for the cockpit of the German Fw 190D-9 fighter, nicknamed the Dora. It is neither a kit nor a model on its own, but a detail set that replaces the flat plastic interior parts and lifts their look to collector standard.

Use

• moisten only the backing paper with a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, lift the element off with tweezers and fix it with PVA glue (white glue); the decals have no adhesive layer of their own
• the photo-etched steel belts are shaped and glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); the manufacturer does not recommend it for the 3D decals
• it is a good idea to degrease the surface before application and to unify the finished detail with a matte varnish; do not use a decal softener, because the chemicals attack the printed resin
