An injection-molded plastic kit of the German self-propelled gun nicknamed Dicker Max in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures this rare, heavily armed vehicle with newly shaped parts, finely engraved panels and rivet detail. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Dicker Max came out of Krupp's design office as a heavy tank destroyer on the Panzer IV chassis, armed with a powerful 105 mm K 18 L/52 gun of high penetrating power. Despite its thinner armor and open superstructure it proved itself in the fighting on the Eastern Front in the opening phase of Operation Barbarossa. Only a handful of vehicles were completed, which makes it an attractive and less usual subject.
Finish the running gear and the interior of the superstructure first, and only then close up the hull. Glue with thin plastic cement, sand the joints down, apply a primer and spray with an airbrush. For weathering use washes and pigments for the mud and dust effects of an open superstructure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
