Resin detail cockpit set for the Hawker Sea Hawk (1:48): a resin replacement cockpit for the British carrier fighter, for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set intended to refine the cockpit of a model of the British Hawker Sea Hawk carrier jet fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. It covers the FGA.6 standard as well as the related export version Mk.101. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the simplified cockpit from a plastic kit with a faithfully cast cockpit tub, instrument panel, side consoles and ejection seat. Aires cockpit sets usually also include fine photo-etch and an instrument film.
The Hawker Sea Hawk was a British single-seat carrier jet fighter-bomber with a straight wing and bifurcated exhausts at the sides of the fuselage. It served with the Royal Navy in the 1950s; the Mk.100/101 standard also served with the West German Navy. Its elegant silhouette and simple design make it a rewarding subject for a model of the early jet era.
First wash the parts to remove mold release residue and only then glue and paint them. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw and sand the cut surfaces. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate): ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Before gluing it in, the kit usually needs a little reworking, so the set is rather for the more experienced. Sand wet and protect your airways.
This is a resin accessory, not a model or a stand-alone kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
