This is a resin detail set in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand, not a stand-alone model of the airplane. The set replaces the exhaust stubs of the plastic kit with more finely cast resin parts with hollow mouths. Once built in and painted it gives the engine area of a model a markedly more realistic look.
The Hawker Tempest was a British single-seat fighter of the later part of the Second World War, developed from the Typhoon design with a new, thinner wing. It was marked by high speed at low altitudes and was used among other things to destroy ground targets and to act against fast flying bombs. It was powered by a potent engine.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the mouths of the exhausts in shades of rust and burnt metal and pick them out with a dark wash.
This is a resin accessory for more experienced modelers, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
