A resin ejection seat with safety belts for the He 162 in 1:48 scale from Quickboost — a precise cockpit accessory; it is not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin ejection seat with cast safety belts for the German He 162 jet fighter in 1:48 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model, but a precise replacement part for experienced modelers that replaces the simplified seat from the kit and raises the fidelity of the cockpit. The casting captures the fine relief of the straps, the buckles and the shell, which is hard to create in plastic.
The He 162 was a German light jet fighter from the very end of the Second World War, developed in great haste as the so-called Volksjaeger, the people's fighter. It was among the first production aircraft fitted with an ejection seat, so a faithful rendering of it is an interesting and period-typical detail on a model. The seat is clearly visible under an open canopy. The part is meant as a refinement of an existing He 162 model in the same scale.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting block under the seat off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and sand the surface; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Spray the seat with a base color, lift the straps with a different shade and bring out the buckles with a dry brush; a fine wash deepens the details.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
