Art Scale 1:48 Henschel Hs 129 double-sided painting mask is a double-sided masking set for the cockpit glazing of the German Hs 129 ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. An accessory for a model, not a kit. The target kits are Hasegawa and Hobby 2000.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Art Scale set of masks is intended for a model of the twin-engine Henschel Hs 129 ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The cockpit of this type is small, angular and densely divided by frames, so masking it by hand takes a disproportionate amount of time. The masks are cut to the shape of the clear parts of the kit of that type and only need to be seated. The model is not included in the package. The cut is figured for the Hasegawa and Hobby 2000 kits.
The double-sided version: it masks the framing from the outer and the inner side, so the frames look right when looking into the cockpit as well.
The Henschel Hs 129 was a German twin-engine ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War period, designed for attacks on ground targets. Its characteristic feature was a heavily armored forward fuselage with a very narrow pilots cockpit and small glazed areas; some of the instruments were therefore placed outside the cockpit. The machine was built in several production versions that differed in engines and in the gun armament slung under the fuselage.
Wash, degrease and dry the clear part. Carry the masks with tweezers and apply them pane by pane, pressing from the center toward the edges. With shapes that small it pays to work under a magnifier and to trim any overhang with the tip of a scalpel. Spray thin coats, otherwise a step forms at the edge. Lift the masks shortly after the paint has dried, with tweezers and an angled pull across the edge of the frame.
It is an accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
