A Decalcas decal set in 1:24 scale capturing the Porsche 935 K3 with the sponsor markings of the Dick Barbour Racing team from 1980. It is used on the finished body of a model; neither parts nor paints are in the package.
The year 1980 found the 935 cars at the peak of their spread: the entry lists of endurance events on both sides of the Atlantic were literally flooded with them, and among the private teams it was mainly a question of who had the best prepared machine. The K3 version from the Kremer team was then one of the most sought-after specifications and raced in the colors of a whole range of customers, the American team of Dick Barbour not excepted. The sponsor line-ups meanwhile changed between runnings, so cars of the same engineering looked different from year to year.
When a motif is to pass over an engraved line of a door or a hood, lay it down whole and, once dry, follow the line with the tip of a new scalpel only as far as it takes for the film to be cut through. Then put a drop of softener into the cut and let the markings drop into the groove. The opening parts will stay legible that way and the sticker will not tear while handling.
