This is an accessory to a plastic model in 1:48 scale, not a complete kit. The parts are cast in modeling resin and serve for converting a model of a fighter of the 109 series into the form of the machine that served as a flying testbed for a different power unit. Without the base model you cannot build the set, so check that it matches your own kit in advance against the illustration on the packaging and the manufacturer's instructions.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E was a single-engine single-seat fighter of the end of the 1930s with a liquid-cooled inverted V12, an angular cabin canopy and the type's characteristic narrow landing gear track. Airframes of this family were also built in Spain after the Second World War by the firm Hispano Aviación. The original German engines were not available there, so the Spanish machines were given other power units. Trials of a new engine installation on a modified airframe led to an aircraft with a different shape of nose, radiators and propeller, of a kind you will not find in an ordinary box.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent; otherwise the remains of the mold release agent prevent the paint from adhering. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, never snap them off. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally the gel version, which gives a few seconds to set the part. Sand wet and protect your airways. Apply filler and a primer to the finished transition between plastic and resin; the primer will also reveal imperfections in the joint before painting.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
