A resin seat with a cast harness for the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I in 1:48 scale from CMK will raise the cockpit with a single part.

This item is not a model of an aircraft, but a resin interior accessory. It replaces the pilot's seat in an injection-molded Hurricane kit in 1:48 scale, in the variant where the harness is cast directly together with the shell of the seat. The work with photo-etched straps and with bending them thereby falls away, which will be appreciated by a modeler who wants a credible cockpit quickly.
On British fighters of that time the pilot's seat is one of the few elements of the cockpit that really are visible once the canopy is closed. The Hurricane Mk.I had a cockpit with a tubular framework, to which the mounting of the seat with the possibility of height adjustment was connected. The harness consisted of shoulder and lap straps with a buckle, which used to be of a firm webbing material. It is precisely the straps thrown loosely over the edge of the seat that are the detail which immediately gives away careful work on a finished model, because it breaks up the empty area of the shell.
Wash the casting with lukewarm soapy water. Cut the casting block off with a saw as far as possible from the fine edges of the straps and level the surface carefully. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In terms of color, set the seat and the straps apart right at the start: the shell keeps to the interior shade of the model, whereas the straps look credible in a muted sand to khaki tone, and the metal buckles are then drawn out with a dark steel paint and a polished graphite pencil. Bring the transitions out with a dark wash and go over the edges of the seat lightly with a dry brush. We recommend seating the seat before the fuselage is glued together.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a standalone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
