This set of 3D printed decals brings fully colored, three-dimensionally raised panels of the instrument panel and the interior of the Soviet Polikarpov I-16 fighter (type 18/24) in 1:48 scale. The elements are printed on a backing decal paper with real relief of the knobs, dials and switches, and after a short soak they slide off the paper straight onto the parts of the model. The result is a richly detailed cockpit with no need for photo-etch or laborious hand painting of the instruments.
It is not a kit and not a decal with markings. These are 3D interior panels that raise the realism of the pilot's station of one particular model. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on a gloss coat. The colors are printed, so hand painting of the instrument panels falls away.
Degrease the surfaces under the decals, level them if need be and polish them with a gloss coat. Cut the elements out, leave them in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide them off the paper into place; seat them with tweezers and a wooden stick, and on intricate places a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. A drop of gloss coat will bring the instrument glasses to life. Work in good light and without haste.
This is an accessory for a plastic model, not a standalone kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
