A set of stencils for the desert finish of the Kfir fighter in the C2 and C7 versions together with shapes for the Israeli stars. Ratio 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kfir grew out of a French delta-wing aircraft, into which Israeli industry built an American engine and to which it added small additional surfaces by the air intakes. The result was a machine with higher thrust and better behavior in a turn than the original. The C2 and C7 versions differ mainly in their equipment and the load carried under the wings, but both wore the same type of finish.
Over the desert a trio of earthy tones proved itself - sand, brown and gray-green - spread into large rounded fields, below which the underside is in a pale blue-gray. The boundaries between the colors are softer on this subject than on splinter schemes, but not sprayed out; they keep to a distinct line, only without sharp vertices.
Besides the masking, the set also holds shapes for spraying the six-pointed star in a circle. Compared with a decal, a sprayed insignia has the advantage of having no gloss of its own and no edge of carrier film, and it blends with the surface, which shows above all on a model with pronounced engraving.
The size of the insignia on this subject changes with its position: it is one size on the wing, another on the sides of the fuselage and smallest on the vertical tail surface.
First finish the light underside tone and separate it from the upper surfaces. Only then lay on the shapes for the individual fields and work from the lightest earthy color. Leave the insignia for the very end, once all the masking has dried, so that the star is sprayed onto an evened-out base.
Only the stencils are supplied, not the paints or the aircraft kit.
