Eduard 1:48 Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik TFace is a double-sided mask set for a model of this ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. It contains masks for the outer and the inner side of the glazing; it is neither a kit nor photo-etched parts.

Die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. First, the kind of product straight out: the package contains stencils for masking while finishing a model. It is not a photo-etched set with metal parts, nor a kit — the model is bought separately.
The abbreviation TFace means that the set deals with the glazing from both sides. You apply the inner masks to the cockpit parts before fitting them and spray the interior shade; the outer masks are then used when spraying the camouflage scheme. The result is frames that have the right color both inside and outside. Single-sided sets deal only with the outside.
The Ilyushin Il-2 was a Soviet ground-attack aircraft intended for attacks on ground targets. Its main design feature was the armored bathtub, which formed the load-bearing part of the front half of the fuselage and protected the engine, the radiators and the pilot. It was built in single-seat and two-seat versions with a gunner in the rear cockpit. It is among the most numerously built combat aircraft of its day. What matters for the modeler is that the cockpit has heavy framing and an armored windshield, so the frames are prominent on a model and a clean job on them is very visible.
Degrease the glazing, apply the inner masks before fitting the parts and press the edges down with a blunt tip. Once the interior is sprayed, set the glass in and add the outer set. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a single heavy coat is easily pushed under the edge of the mask. Take the mask off at a sharp angle while the finish is still fresh. The set is cut for a particular kit of this type; please check compatibility beforehand.
