Eduard masks J2M Raiden 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for the model of the Japanese J2M Raiden interceptor. It gives sharp color divisions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is meant for the plastic model of the Japanese naval Mitsubishi J2M Raiden interceptor, known to the Allies under the reporting name Jack. It is neither a kit nor a model of its own but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color divisions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without lengthy cutting of tape by hand.
The Mitsubishi J2M Raiden is a Japanese single-engined interceptor of the Second World War with a radial engine and a bulky fuselage. Unlike the agile Japanese fighters it was designed for a fast climb and for attacking high-flying bombers, with the emphasis on speed and rate of climb rather than maneuverability. It was used mainly in the defense of the Japanese home islands.
Degrease the glazing of the canopy and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them on the frame of the windscreen and of the sliding section, pressing them into the edges. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. The wheel masks separate the tire from the hub. Once the paint has dried, peel them off carefully at a sharp angle so that the fresh layer is not torn away.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
