Rob Taurus 1:48 Yak-7 DI Early is a vacuum-formed clear canopy for the early version of the Soviet fighter. It is not a model of an aircraft but a refining accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopy in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Rob Taurus, intended for the early version of the Soviet Yak-7 DI fighter. It replaces the production cockpit canopy with a thinner and optically cleaner part of the matching shape. It is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory.
The Yakovlev Yak-7 belonged to the successful line of Soviet frontline fighters of the Second World War; the DI version grew out of what had originally been a two-seat trainer. The early machines differed from the later ones in the shape of the glazing and of the rear fuselage. This canopy matches the early form of the cockpit.
The molding is cut out with a sharp knife along the outline, and the edges are sanded and polished. The thin part makes it possible to show the cockpit open. It is glued with glue for clear parts; the frames are masked before spraying.
This is a standalone accessory. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
