The half-ton Russian bomb 1:48 KAB-500 KR by AMMO of Mig Jimenez is the most frequently seen precision ordnance of the Su-25 and Su-24M.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pair of guided bombs of the half-ton class with image guidance, rendered in fighter scale by the brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It is suitable as armament for a finished model of a Soviet or Russian tactical aircraft.
The half-ton class is the ideal compromise for tactical machines. The effect is enough for most point targets, the weight allows several pieces to be carried at once and the dimensions fit under smaller aircraft as well. The version with the suffix KR works on the same principle as its heavier sister: before release the crew stores the image of the target and the seeker head then looks for it by itself in what it sees below. This type entered service in the nineteen-eighties and since then it has been the most frequently depicted Russian guided bomb of all, whether in shots from the Caucasus or from the Middle East. It is characterized by a short stubby body and four large tail surfaces.
A smaller body means that more pieces fit under a wing, and it is precisely there that imprecise alignment shows most. Measure and mark out the spacing and the angle in advance. Do not forget the contrasting cover over the optics at the nose. Find out the material of the parts beforehand and choose the glue accordingly, or the joint may not hold.
