The Kedge in its television form: 1:48 KH-29T by AMMO of Mig Jimenez offers a missile that locks onto the target before it is even launched.
Responsibility details are not available.
External stores by AMMO of Mig Jimenez representing two pieces of the Soviet air-to-ground guided missile in the television version. It is hung on a finished model of a frontline aircraft and replaces the simplified parts from the kit.
The essential difference against its laser sister is in what the missile has at its nose. The television version carries a camera with a wider flat window, thanks to which the silhouette of its nose is markedly different and stubbier. The crew finds the target on a screen in the cockpit, locks the image onto it, and after launch they no longer have to concern themselves with the weapon, because it holds the memorized subject by itself. Over a heavily defended area that is an enormous advantage: the carrier can aim away immediately. The disadvantage is the same as with all image systems, namely dependence on daylight and decent visibility. The Soviet and later the Russian Air Force hung this missile under the Su-17M4, the Su-24M, the MiG-27 and the Su-25, in more recent times under the Su-30 and the Su-34, and in export countries it serves to this day.
The flat face of the window at the nose is nicely imitated by a drop of a glossy transparent layer over a dark undercoat. The body, by contrast, should be left matte, so that the contrast stands out. The missile is among the larger stores, so seat it on a sufficiently stiff mounting and use a glue corresponding to the material of the parts.
