The Kawasaki Ki-45 Toryu was a Japanese twin-engine two-seat heavy fighter of the Second World War, widely used as a night fighter as well. The Allies gave it the reporting name Nick. The Kai Tei version was one of the late, heavily armed variants. The gun barrels are a conspicuous detail; sharp resin castings with accurate muzzles look more convincing than solid plastic cylinders and can be carefully deepened.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue
• Cut off the casting blocks (gates) and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); plastic cement does not hold on resin
• The muzzles can be deepened carefully with a drill for an even more convincing look
