A resin detail set from the Brassin line of the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory, with which you will replace the exhaust pipes of the plastic kit of the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien fighter. The resin castings have suggested drilled openings and a finer surface, so the exhausts come across more realistically than the plastic parts.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien is a Japanese fighter aircraft of the Second World War, unusual for its liquid-cooled V engine, which gave it a slender front end similar to European fighters. To Allied pilots it was known under the code name Tony. The Ki-61-Id variant is among the later production renderings. The exhausts at the sides of the engine are well visible on a model.
Wash the parts clean of the mold release agent, carefully cut the casting blocks off and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Gently correct the drilled openings with a small drill if needed. Paint the exhausts separately, where dark metallic shades filled out with rusty and burnt effects are suitable, and seat them on the model only after the fuselage has been painted.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
