A photo-etched set for the model of the Soviet KV-2 heavy tank in its early form in 1:48 scale, built for the Hobby Boss kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy tank of the start of the Second World War. On the chassis and hull of the KV heavy tank it carried a conspicuously tall, angular turret with a howitzer, which was meant to break up fortifications and field positions. Its tall silhouette and great weight made it an unwieldy machine, but as a model it is a vehicle that is recognized at first glance in any display case. The early form differs from the later machines in the shape of the turret and in some details of the hull.
These are photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale, built for the KV-2 kit in its early form from Hobby Boss. Photo-etch makes it possible to produce items in a thickness that cannot be reached in injection-molded plastic, so on a model the fenders, grilles, brackets and other thin components in particular look more faithful. The exact make-up of the fret is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are held to the fret by thin tabs. Cut them through with a sharp blade on a hard surface; do not tear them, or the part will twist. Run the bends along the etched groove, preferably in a bender or between the jaws of flat pliers. Use super glue in a small amount for gluing. Degrease the parts before painting and apply a base coat, because otherwise paint holds poorly on smooth photo-etch.
The set is for modelers who already have experience of photo-etch or who want to acquire it on clearly legible parts. The model of the tank, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
