This resin conversion set from the Czech maker Quickboost (the Aires workshop) makes it possible to rebuild a standard model of the Aero L-29 Delfin trainer into its photo-reconnaissance variant. The set holds parts cast in modeling resin, with which the original parts of the kit are replaced and completed. The set on its own is not an airplane model, but an accessory intended for plastic L-29 Delfin models in 1:48 scale.
The reconnaissance Delfins carried a modified nose with cameras and other small changes compared with the production trainer. The conversion brings differently shaped parts that capture those changes faithfully, so you can build the less common reconnaissance version instead of the usual trainer. The exact contents of the package follow the particular edition of the set.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a little detergent to remove the mold release residue from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, not by snapping them off. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Because this is a conversion, expect to modify and if necessary sand down the original plastic; when sanding resin, work with respiratory protection and dust extraction.
The set holds only the resin parts of the conversion. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
