The set contains a resin control stick for the cockpit of a model of the Soviet Lavochkin La-5 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is an aftermarket accessory from Quickboost (Aires) that replaces the simpler plastic part of the kit with a more faithfully cast resin rendering. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory for the interior of the cockpit.
The Lavochkin La-5 was a single-seat Soviet fighter with a radial engine, used in the Second World War. Its cockpit was fairly plain and the control stick is a detail that shows well even in a small scale and brings an open cockpit to life. A more faithfully made stick improves the overall impression of the interior.
Wash the resin part to remove mold release, separate it from the casting block and seat it on the cockpit floor. Bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways and ventilate while sanding resin.
This is an aftermarket resin accessory. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
