The Martin-Baker Mk.4 (BRM) ejection seat 1:48 is a resin detail set by the brand Aires for the cockpit of the Mirage III and the Kfir C-1.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set brings a faithful resin replica of the British Martin-Baker Mk.4 series ejection seat (in the BRM version). It is not an aircraft model but a cockpit detail accessory, specifically for the Dassault Mirage III and the Israeli IAI Kfir C-1 in 1:48 scale. The casting carries fine relief of the harness, handles and mechanism that plastic seats from kits as a rule do not have.
Martin-Baker Mk.4 series seats were among the widespread lightweight ejection seats of the 1950s and 1960s and were fitted in a number of combat and training aircraft. The versions for the Mirage III and the early Kfir differed slightly from each other in the details of the mountings and the harness.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or break them off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate. Once the seat is glued into the cockpit tub, bring it out with a dry brush and shade the harness straps; that lifts the whole interior. The small handles and grips are worth emphasizing with a contrasting color.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
