A resin accessory from Quickboost (Aires) in 1:48 scale containing the exhaust pipes for the Macchi C.205 fighter. It is not an airplane model but a small replacement set that swaps the coarser or split plastic parts for more exactly cast shapes. The finely cast exhaust looks more delicate on a finished model than injection-molded plastic and takes metallic shades and weathering better.
The Macchi C.205 Veltro was an Italian single-seat fighter of the Second World War, powered by an inverted V12 derived from the license-built Daimler-Benz DB 605. It was among the best-performing Italian fighters of its day. The short exhaust pipes along the sides of the nose are characteristic of the silhouette of the aircraft.
Separate the parts from the casting block carefully, wash them to remove mold release residue and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The exhausts paint up nicely in dark iron with a hint of rust and burnt metal; sand with respiratory protection.
The airplane model itself is not included in the package. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included.
