A cut self-adhesive mask for the model of the bomber B-29 Superfortress in 1:48 scale in the highest equipment grade. The set is cut to the shapes of a particular kit and covers a considerably wider range of masked surfaces than the basic version.
The B-29 Superfortress was an American four-engine heavy bomber introduced in the second half of the Second World War. Technically it was an advanced design with a pressurized cabin for the crew and with remotely controlled defensive armament in gun turrets. A conspicuous feature is the fully glazed nose with a large number of separate panes.
The glazing of the B-29 is one of the most demanding tasks in modeling at all. The glass nose consists of many irregular panes of different shapes, and to that are added the covers of the gun positions along the whole fuselage. Masking on this scale by hand can easily take a whole evening, and one inaccurately led edge is enough for the difference to show across the whole front. A cut set gives all the panes the same geometry at once. Work systematically from the nose aft and take the individual parts off in the order in which they lie on the sheet, so that they do not get mixed up.
This is a masking accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
