The basic grade of the mask set for building the single-seat Hornet in 1:48 scale, in the A form and in the Canadian CF-18(A) variant. The set holds self-adhesive cut masks for the main masked places, that is above all for the canopy glazing. The BASIC grade is the leanest in the range and suits cases where you want to solve the glazing and need nothing more from a mask set.
The Hornet has a large hinged canopy with a low frame that narrows along its whole length. A shape like that is exactly what masks badly with tape freehand, because a straight strip buckles on a curved surface and the edge stops being straight. A cut mask holds the course of the frame as the original has it and adheres even on a curve, so that after spraying a line arises that matches the real machine.
Degrease the glazing and let it dry, and only then apply the masks. Move the mask with tweezers, press it down from the center and smooth the edges with a blunt tool. Spray in thin coats, first with the interior color and only then with the top shade. Lift it off soon after drying, slowly and back across itself. Keep the remains of the sheet; they will serve when masking small things elsewhere on the model.
The set holds only the masks. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
