The mask set in the EXPERT form is the highest of the grades of extent offered for this subject. Compared with the basic form it covers a wider range of surfaces of the model. The contents are a self-adhesive masking film with cut shapes that are transferred directly onto the parts of the model. Neither a kit nor paints are part of the package.

The difference between the grades of extent

For a range of subjects the manufacturer offers several levels of mask set. The basic grade handles above all the glazing and the wheels, while the higher grades add further masks and increase the share of the work the set does for you. It pays off where you also want to spray the parts that would otherwise have to be laboriously taped around or replaced with a decal. The procedure for spraying over a mask

• First spray the surface of the model with a base coat and let it cure properly, otherwise the mask will pull the paint away.
• Place the mask exactly the first time, as repeated reapplication reduces the tack of the film.
• Seal the edges with a thin coat of the base color, and only then spray the target shade.
• Keep the pressure on the airbrush lower and spray square to the surface; an angled spray blows paint under the edge.
• Remove any adhesive residue after lifting it off carefully with a clean wooden stick, not with a solvent.

It is for modelers who take a build all the way and want even the small areas sprayed rather than taped over. It will also help where a model ends up in a display case close to the viewer and the difference between a spray and a decal shows at first glance.

The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery.
