The top level of the mask set from the Czech manufacturer New Ware for the British Phantom FGR.2 in 1:48 scale. The self-adhesive templates are cut to the shape of the parts of the kits named in the product name, so they go on without measuring and trimming.
The BASIC, ADVANCED and EXPERT grading of New Ware masks describes scope, not grade. EXPERT is the most comprehensive of the levels offered and is intended for anyone who wants to leave as much of the work as possible to the templates. The difference against the lower levels is the larger amount of material and the larger number of cut shapes.
With an extensive set it pays to work systematically. Do not pop all the templates out at once: leave them on the sheet and take them off only at the moment you apply them, otherwise the small shapes easily get mixed up or stick to one another. Lift them with the tip of a scalpel or with smooth-jawed tweezers, as a fingerprint on the adhesive reduces its grip. Store the rest of the sheet with the unused shapes flat in its wrapping, away from heat and direct light; it will come in handy when you build another model later.
Spray the cockpit frames first in the interior shade and only then in the outer shade, so that on the finished model the glazing looks right from the inside. Apply the paint in thin coats perpendicular to the surface. Remove the mask while the paint is freshly dried, pulling it sideways rather than straight up. Take off any adhesive residue left on the clear part with a soft cloth moistened with water, not with thinner.
The package holds only the masking templates. The kit and paints are not part of it.
