A photo-etched set of small hatches, flaps and quick-release latches for the F, G and K series. It replaces the places where a kit makes do with suggested engraving, and gives the skin that difference between a smooth surface and the surface of a real aircraft which is evident above all in sharp light. The photo-etched sheet is prepared for the Eduard kit.
The Messerschmitt was designed for quick servicing in field conditions. The engine covers, the filler necks, the accesses to the armament and the service openings were opened with quick-release latches which could be unlocked with a coin or a screwdriver in a matter of seconds. On a small fighter there were dozens of them and their arrangement also changed between the F, G and K series, so a faithful rendering is one of the details by which work well done shows on a model.
Work from the tail toward the nose, so that you do not rub the finished parts with your hand. Seat the parts with tweezers onto a thin layer of clear coat, which allows the position to be adjusted for a few seconds. Once dry, spray the whole surface with a base so that the metal and the plastic get a shared shade. A final dark wash will pick out the outline of a hatch, but do not overdo it, or an impression of coarse sheet metal bodywork arises.
The package contains photo-etched parts, and the aircraft itself is built from a kit.
