Photo-etched metal parts for models of the Mi-24P attack helicopter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-24 is a Soviet attack helicopter that combines offensive equipment with a compartment for carrying troops. Under its stub wings it carries pylons for rockets and bombs, and the crew sit in two cockpits in tandem under separate glazing. The P version differs from the earlier forms in having a fixed twin-barrel cannon mounted on the right-hand side of the fuselage instead of a movable weapon in the nose.
Photo-etched parts from thin metal sheet intended for Mi-24P models in 1:48 scale. Etching is used where a plastic part would come out too thick: for grilles, thin edges, placards, straps and small controls. The list of parts and their position on the model is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts from the photo-etched fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remains of the tab away. Make the bends over the edge of a metal ruler or in a bender so that the line is crisp. Metal is glued with a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue, ideally applied with a pin or a piece of wire. Degrease the area before painting and use a primer suitable for metal. With grilles it pays to paint them from a distance in thin coats so that the mesh does not clog.
The set is for the modeler who already handles small parts and wants features on the model at the right thickness. Tweezers with fine points and good light make the work easier. The helicopter kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
