A cast resin upgrade set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in the Brassin line. It brings a complete detailed cockpit for the late version of the MiG-21MF fighter in 1:48 scale: the cockpit tub with side consoles and rear bulkhead, the ejection seat and the instrument panels, usually supplemented with color photo-etched parts. It is not a model or a kit of a whole aircraft: it is an interior accessory for advanced modelers, which replaces the simplified plastic cockpit from the box. Cast resin faithfully renders the instruments, levers and structure of the cockpit, which are clearly visible once the canopy is opened.
The MiG-21 is a single-engine supersonic frontline fighter with a delta wing and a frontal circular air intake with an adjustable shock cone. The MF version is among the most widely built variants; late machines differed from the earlier series in details of the cockpit. The cockpit is one of the most closely watched parts of any fighter model.
It is supplied as a resin accessory, unpainted. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
