A resin upgrade set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, from the Brassin range. It contains an accurately cast tail exhaust nozzle for the jet engine of the MiG-21 fighter in the MF and SMT versions, in 1:48 scale, supplemented with fine etched parts. This is not a model or a kit of the whole aircraft — it is a detail accessory for advanced modelers that replaces the simplified plastic nozzle from the box. Cast resin captures even the small petals, ribbing and structure of the nozzle, which molded plastic cannot render accurately.
The MiG-21 is a single-engine supersonic frontline fighter with a delta wing, one of the most numerous jet aircraft of the Cold War. Its engine exhausts through a characteristic tapered nozzle with movable petals, whose appearance on the later MF and SMT versions differs from earlier aircraft. This is exactly the part that gives away the most on a finished model.
