A resin cockpit set for the MiG-25RB Foxbat-B in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aires. It replaces the cockpit from a plastic kit; the aircraft model itself is not included in the package.

A detailing accessory in cast resin for building the MiG-25RB in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified cockpit space from the box with a more accurate casting with fine rendering of the instruments, the panels and the side walls. It is an accessory for a build, not a stand-alone model, and you need to have the basic kit.
The MiG-25 was a twin-engine high-speed aircraft designed for flight at great altitude. The RB version was meant for reconnaissance and bombing tasks, which the equipment of the forward fuselage matched. The cockpit of the single-seat machine is fairly cramped and, once closed, covered by a framed canopy, which makes legible detail inside it all the more worthwhile.
Cockpit sets are fitted first, before the fuselage halves are glued together, so start with a dry fit. Cut the casting block under the cockpit tub off with a saw and sand the surface flat, so that the fuselage can be closed without force. Sometimes the fuselage walls have to be thinned from the inside; go in small steps and keep trying the fit. Wash the castings free of mold release agent, go over them with a primer and paint them with an airbrush, then touch the small instruments in with a brush. A dry brush and a dark wash bring out the relief of the panels. Finish the seat and the belts separately and glue them in last.
This is an accessory for a build, not a complete model. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
