A resin detail set intended to improve the aerodynamic (air) brakes of the MiG-31 Foxhound aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory that replaces the corresponding parts of a plastic model with resin castings rendered more faithfully. The manufacturer is the Aires company, which specializes in resin details.
The MiG-31 Foxhound is a heavy supersonic interceptor of Soviet, or rather Russian, design. It came about as a capable successor to the MiG-25 intended to intercept targets at high altitudes and speeds, and it is notable for a pair of powerful engines, a crew of two and a capable onboard radar. Extended air brakes are among the striking features when the aircraft is shown on the ground.
First cut the parts from the casting blocks and wash them free of any residue of the release agent. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Resin makes it possible to show the brakes in the extended position with fine interior detail. Before gluing, check the fit against your particular kit and adjust the mating surfaces if needed.
The set is supplied unpainted; the paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
