A set of cast wheels with weighted tires for 1:48 models of Mikoyan-Gurevich jet fighters. The manufacturer specifies it for the MiG-15bis in the late configuration and for the MiG-17. The tires are cast with a realistically bulged lower section, so the model sits on its landing gear like a real aircraft under its own weight; plastic kit wheels tend to have a tread that is circular all the way around. This is an accessory for a model, not an aircraft model.
The MiG-15 was the first Soviet jet fighter built in large-scale production; the bis version received a more powerful powerplant along with a range of changes. In the West the reporting name Fagot is used for the MiG-15. The MiG-17, with the reporting name Fresco, is its more refined successor with a new wing and better behavior close to the speed of sound. Both types come from the same design line, were deployed in enormous numbers with dozens of operators and remain among the most frequently built subjects of the early jet era.
