The Mil Mi-24 is a heavy combat helicopter of Soviet origin which, besides its armament, can carry troops in the rear cabin as well. The crew sits in tandem one behind the other under two stepped canopies, stub wings with pylons grow out of the sides of the fuselage and the undercarriage retracts in flight. The P version is recognized by the fixed twin-barrel cannon of 30 mm caliber on the right side of the fuselage, which replaced the movable gun turret with a machine gun in the nose. In 1:48 scale this is a large model with extensive glazing, where every detail in the cockpit counts.
This is a decal set and it adds to the model the elements that are applied to the surface instead of being glued on like plastic parts. The extent of the set, the placement of the individual elements and the order of work are described in the manufacturer's instructions.
The whole sheet is not immersed in water. With a damp sponge and a drop of dish soap, wet only the backing paper under the part, then lift the element off with tweezers and transfer it to its place. It is fixed with PVA glue (white glue); the maker does not recommend super glue, and decal softener does not belong on these elements, because it attacks the printed layer. Prepare the base smooth, degreased and dry; on rough matte paint the elements hold badly and air bubbles form under the edge. Fit the elements for the cockpit before you glue the fuselage together and put the glazing on.
For modelers who want a legible interior and fine details on a large helicopter without painting with a brush. Unless stated otherwise, this is a separate accessory set and the kit, paints and glue are supplied separately.
