Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Morane-Saulnier MS.230 trainer in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian maker Dora Wings. It is short-run tooling complemented by photo-etched parts and decals for several marking options of machines in foreign service. Note that the MS.230 is a monoplane with the wing carried above the fuselage on struts (the parasol type), not a biplane.
The MS.230 was the basic trainer of the French Air Force in the 1930s, the aircraft on which a whole generation of prewar pilots learned to fly. The parasol high-wing layout gave pupils excellent visibility and the machine calm, forgiving handling. Because it was reliable, a number of foreign operators and flying clubs bought it as well. It was powered by a radial engine, and the open cockpit underlined its training character.
The key to a realistic result is seating the struts that carry the wing firmly and squarely, so dry-fit them first. Do not forget the rigging (the bracing wires between the struts and the fuselage), which gives the model its characteristic look; tension it from stretched sprue or from modeling thread. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate and the plastic with thin modeling cement. Finish the open cockpit before the fuselage goes together.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
