The North American P-51D Mustang is a single-seat fighter of the Second World War, recognizable at first glance by its bubble canopy and its cut-down rear fuselage. It was the D version that was built in the greatest numbers and escorted bomber formations over long distances, which also makes it the most sought after among modelers.
The set belongs to the LööKplus range and is meant to complete a P-51D Mustang kit in 1:48 scale. The aim of these sets is to replace or add to the places where a plastic kit simplifies things and to bring the result closer to the real subject without laborious scratching and adding wire. The extent of the set and the exact placement of the individual parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them for the order of assembly as well, because some of the parts are fitted before the fuselage is closed.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic models has no effect on them. Use super glue and apply it in small drops. Cut away the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the rest down. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, otherwise the paint holds badly on a smooth surface. Dry test fits without glue always pay off with accessory sets: adjusting the seating is easier beforehand than once it has dried.
The set serves as an accessory for a kit in 1:48 scale. Paints, glue and filler are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
