A colored printed cockpit interior from Quinta Studio for the OV-10A Bronco in 1:48 scale. The QD series elements are briefly soaked in lukewarm water and slid off the backing paper.
Responsibility details are not available.
The North American Rockwell OV-10A Bronco is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a pair of tail booms. It served for observation, for directing air support and for close support of ground troops. The crew sits in tandem under extensive glazing, so the cockpit shows clearly on a model and is worth finishing properly.
Interior elements finished in color with a three-dimensional surface, printed on and carried by decal paper. The instrument panels, the side consoles and other cockpit details already come colored and shaded, so there is no laborious picking out of small areas with a brush.
The QD series elements go on like a decal. Cut the part from the sheet, leave it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own and holds reliably on gloss varnish, so once the cockpit is painted give it a coat of a gloss varnish such as Future or Tamiya X-22. On a broken-up part a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as they would attack the printed resin.
It suits the modeler who wants the cockpit finished quickly and in a consistent color scheme. It pays off especially on an aircraft with this much glazing, where the inside stays in view even after the cockpit is closed.
The set is an accessory to a kit in 1:48 scale. The model itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
