A set of resin underwing pylons for a model of the OV-10A Bronco observation and light attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. This is not a kit of an airplane but a detailing accessory: resin pylons will replace the corresponding plastic parts of the base model and bring sharper edges, finer transitions and a cleaner surface, which an injection mold can hardly achieve on a part this slender.
The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a pair of tail booms, a tandem cockpit and exceptionally good takeoff and landing qualities from short and unpaved surfaces. The OV-10A version served from the second half of the 1960s with the US Air Force, the Marine Corps and the Navy for forward air control, observation and light strike tasks. The pylons are among the features that on the real machine are thin and conspicuous at the same time, so on a model they catch the eye at once.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly. That removes the remains of the mold release agent, on which neither paint nor glue holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine modeling saw or a cutting disc, and never break them off. Sand the remains down with fine sanding paper, ideally wet and with respiratory protection, because resin dust is fine and does not belong in the lungs. It is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate; an ordinary cement for plastic will not etch resin. Before painting, apply a primer, which will even the surface out and reveal any scratches left by sanding.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
