Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen in 1:700 scale from Tamiya, from the Waterline Series. The model has a hull cut at the waterline, four main-battery turrets, an elegant superstructure and anti-aircraft armament. A nameplate is enclosed for display.
Prinz Eugen belonged to the German Admiral Hipper class of heavy cruisers and carried eight 203 mm guns in four turrets. The ship became famous for escorting the battleship Bismarck on her sortie into the Atlantic and for taking part in the battle of the Denmark Strait. Unlike the Bismarck she survived the war and became one of the few large German surface ships to come through the conflict. After the war she was used in the American nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll in 1946.
Clean up the hull and deck joints carefully. Apply the gray shade with an airbrush, mask any camouflage scheme carefully, and a fine wash will bring out the details. The delicate railings and masts come out best once a photo-etched set is added (not included in the package). The model can be displayed on a stand or in a diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
