Vallejo True Metallic Metal Base - Imperial Gold (a metallic acrylic paint)

A water-thinnable acrylic metallic paint from the True Metallic Metal line, with very fine metal pigments and a realistic sheen at figure scale. The Imperial Gold shade is a saturated gold tone and this Base version is the opaque base color. In the Base-Shade-Light system, Base covers the whole metal area as the undercoat on which the shading and lightening tones follow. The paint has high covering power and covers over a black as well as a white undercoat, as a rule in one or two coats. It is non-toxic, odorless, thinned with water and comes in a dropper bottle of 18 ml.

Use

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use so that the metal pigment mixes through.
• Apply with a brush onto a smooth, well prepared surface; it covers over a black as well as a white undercoat.
• Use it as the saturated gold base of armor, ornaments and accessories.
• Apply metallic paints toward the end; they are harder to mask and to overspray.
• Once thinned with water it can be sprayed with an airbrush too; the line has a separate airbrush version for spraying.
