Replacement air intakes and the B-33 supercharger from Quickboost for a model of the Lockheed P-38F Lightning in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of replacement parts from Quickboost for a model of the Lockheed P-38F Lightning in 1:48 scale. It replaces the air intakes and the supercharger unit designated B-33. These are parts that can be seen on a model both from above and from the side, so they tell on the final impression more than their size would suggest.
The P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engine fighter with an unusual layout: the cockpit and the armament were concentrated in a short central nacelle, while the engines carried two longitudinal booms ending in the tail surfaces. The engines were piston engines, liquid-cooled and supercharged. The supercharging unit sat on the upper side of the boom behind the engine and, together with the openings for induction and cooling, is among the most conspicuous features of the whole design.
First try the parts dry in their seats on the model and only then glue them. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest so that the part seats over its whole area and the outline of the opening stays crisp. The parts are not polystyrene, so polystyrene cement has no effect on them; use super glue. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. It is worth painting the inside of the openings before you seat the parts, because afterward a brush will no longer reach in.
The delivery consists of the replacement parts for this item. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
