The injection-molded plastic kit Hobby 2000 1:48 P-38J Lightning — the American twin-boom fighter as used over Europe in 1944.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-engine fighter Lockheed P-38J Lightning in 1:48 scale from Hobby 2000. The edition is aimed at the European theater of 1944 and brings new decals, plastic sprues and clear parts for the cockpit glazing.
The Lightning was unmistakable for its twin-boom layout with two V12 engines and a central nacelle for the pilot and the armament. The P-38J version received improved cooling and better equipment. The machine stood out for its long range and its speed; it served as a fighter, an escort fighter and a reconnaissance fighter, and both over Europe and in the Pacific it was one of the mainstays of the US Army Air Forces.
Finish and paint the cockpit in the central nacelle before you close it up. Mask the canopy glazing. Take care over the exact seating of both engine nacelles and the tail booms so that the model is not twisted. Spray the large surfaces with an airbrush and lay down a gloss coat under the decals; fit the drop tanks and the armament at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
