The P-38J seat PRINT from Eduard is a 3D-printed pilot's seat in 1:48 scale. A small accessory for the cockpit that replaces the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small add-on set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard from its line of 3D-printed parts. It replaces the pilot's seat in the cockpit of the P-38J Lightning in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor a complete interior but one particular component; you have to have the base model.
The seat is the first thing you see in an open cockpit and at the same time the part that injection-molded plastic serves worst. The thickness of the shell, the fine stiffeners and the lightening holes are difficult to produce in a mold, whereas 3D printing handles them at scale thickness. The result is a visibly finer cockpit without having to buy a whole interior set.
Cut the part off the print supports with a sharp knife and sand the remains carefully. Before gluing, wash it in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry. It is bonded with super glue; solvent cement for polystyrene does not hold here. It is practical to paint the seat separately before fitting it into the cockpit, because once it is glued in, a brush can no longer reach its inner surfaces. Do not forget the base color and the final highlighting of the edges, which makes the biggest difference on a small part.
An accessory, not a model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
