Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely die-cut self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the American Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter and its export P-400 variant in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor a model: it is an accessory for painting the cockpit glazing and other small areas cleanly. This set is cut to match the layout of the parts of one particular simplified edition of the model, so the masks line up exactly and the framing of the glazing and the side doors gets crisp, straight edges without laborious cutting of tape. Sets of this kind also tend to include circular masks for the wheel discs.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter with an unusual layout: the engine sat in the middle of the fuselage behind the pilot and drove the propeller through a long shaft, which freed the nose for a large cannon. The aircraft had nosewheel landing gear and, instead of a sliding canopy, car-style side doors. It was used in large numbers by the Soviet Air Force, while the export P-400 was originally destined for British units.
Lift the mask carefully off the backing with tweezers or the tip of a knife and lay it on a dry, degreased surface. Press the edges down carefully, so that paint cannot run underneath. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and pull the mask off before the coat hardens completely. On strongly curved shapes it helps to seal the edge with masking fluid.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
