This is an aftermarket detail accessory for the cockpit, not an aircraft kit. The set from HGW contains textile (fabric) pilot's seat belts, typically laser-cut, combined with fine photo-etched metal buckles and clasps. It is intended for models of the P-40 fighter in 1:48 scale.
Fabric belts look soft and drape naturally over the seat, which is far better than stiff plastic or purely photo-etched belts. The cockpit gains a realistic centerpiece that stands out especially on models with an open canopy.
The belts are assembled by threading the fabric parts through the photo-etched buckles and shaping them into the required position. A drop of super glue serves to fix them. The material can be toned lightly to unify the shade and bring out the stitching.
